Communities In Bloom...
As Mayor of this fine City, it's easy to get caught up in the busy day to day operations of business and political items but ocassionally, an item from a strong positive program, like Communities in Bloom, come across my desk and I am reminded about the importance of the pride in ownership our citizens have. Woodstock would not be Woodstock without programs like Communities in Bloom and the many projects it has undertaken over the past years.
If was for two years, my privilege to Chair the incredible team of volunteers that led our city to national prominence in this friendly competition. Our pages of the annual Take Part, Take Pride magazine are filled with stories of the wonderful work of all the partners in the Communities In Bloom family and their contribution to Woodstock. The groups are committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility, and beautification through community participation. How often have I said, "Its not just about flowers". Now Woodstock can enjoy being a national champion.
On behalf of City Council, I wish Woodstock all the best in the future of this program and wish to thank the volunteers for all of the time, sweat and pride they have put forth to make our community a better place to live. I urge more citizens and business' alike to get involved in this program
